What's the Story?

The Kokomos band has existed since the end of 1994 as a basic 4 piece band, (guitar, bass, drums & harmonica), with their fun attitude being treated to an over-whelming response from the audiences everywhere, including the 1995 East Coast Blues Festival & at other functions supporting acts such as The Back Sliders, Dutch Tilders & they have jammed on stage with Phil Manning.

In recent years the band has been able to explore a larger cross section of music & venues, with the addition in 1998 of the Brass section. In August 1999 the band played support to Renee Geyer on part of her Northern tour, impressing tour managers. In May 2000, Mr Kokomo played at the “Art, Food & all that Jazz” festival at Kingscliff beach NSW, immediately after The Don Burrows Quartet.

The festival coordinators, Mr Burrows & Miss Julie Anthony all approved of our show.

In 2001, Mr Kokomo is working regularly around the beautiful North Coast of NSW & Southern QLD, at private & public functions, offering a great deal of enthusiasm at all gigs they choose to play.

In May they Supported Lee Kernaghan, Gina Jeffreys & the Bushwackers at the Inaugural Boots ‘N’ Bush Country Music festival in Murwillumbah.

The band is often booked as a five piece, however, they have many options as to their line up. This is governed only by the requirements of the function at which they are playing. Sometimes the band is stripped to a three piece outfit, but more often they add the sixth, seventh or eighth members !!

All musicians in Mr Kokomo have between 20 to 40 years experience, & they can be guaranteed to lift the roof off any function if required.
